An effective transition program will ease the entry of your child into their new school environment. We undertake an extensive pre-school transition program but also provide transition for our Year 6 students as they move to secondary college at the end of each year. To support all students we undertake a number of transition sessions across levels in December. In this way we enable students to gain an understanding of what the next year will hold and to ask any questions they have.

Our pre-school transition program commences in Term 3 and then continues into Term 4 for those students enrolled for the following school year. As part of the program both students and parents have sessions they are able to attend. When the program draws to a close on Orientation Day in December we hope that you and your child have a clear understanding of life in prep and are ready to start the exciting journey with us.

We are always open to suggestions for improvement in our transition program so please take the time to fill in the survey at the end of the program to assist us with future planning.

International Students

Syndal South Primary School welcomes International Students and the diversity and contribution they can make to our community school.

Our school works to build Intercultural Understandings into all that we do at Syndal South PS. In 2011 we participated in a Department of Education and Early Childhood Development Intercultural Field Trial. This trial enabled us to learn moer about our community via our What’s Your Story? sessions. We have worked to further development Intercultural Understandings through our curriculum throughout 2012. We have also promoted our diversity via community events (Curry Night in Term 2 was a huge success) and look forward to continuing the exploration of our cultures each year.
